Because you've got what's needed to raise the next generation of great humans!
Our GrandParenting by Design mini course equips you to offer wisdom without overstepping or overwhelming... in a way that creates connection.
An on-demand course to equip you to help raise the next generation of great humans!Â
âď¸ You weren't designed to be just the sugar-fairy or the babysitter (though there's certainly a time and place for both!), you were created to pour your wisdom and experience into your grandkids.
âď¸ It doesn't work when you overstep your children, so you need a way to respect their autonomy while ALSO guiding them to avoid the mistakes and mishaps you wish you could do differently.
âď¸ It's easier if you have insight into the developmental stages of children (from 0-21), ensuring you provide the right kind of support at the right time (which is essential to being an effective grandparent).
The blueprint to raise the next generation of great humans begins here
1. Define the highest & best role of grandparents
We need to start with the "job description" of what we're even doing. GrandParenting is a sacred trust and an opportunity to do something awesome.
2. Determine your grown kids' goals
GrandParenting is NOT a shot to get a "parenting do-over" or continue raising your own kids... it's a time to step in behind your kids and support them.
3. Do the daily work...
Once we know our role (and have clear goals), we can craft a plan to begin investing in our grandkids. And, we're able to do this regardless of geography. We just need a plan.
This is three generations of family...
One of our grandsons (in the back center) decided he wanted to go on a triple day with his parents and his grandparents.Â
We counted it as a win, because what high-schooler wants to hang out with his girlfriend, his parents, and his grandparents?!
It was a long journey to get here, and we're still working at it!
Â
Tammy and I got married in 1979.
A few years into it we welcomed Jarod, our oldest son, into the family. Abby, our daughter (pictured here with her husband, Brent), followed close behindâŚ
⌠and then Eric.
We thought we were done.
In fact, as kids began making their way into college (with others moving into high school, soon to be there with them), we thought thatâ
â Yes, that was a great runâ we did a good job raising those kids and preparing them for adulthood
âźď¸ But there are so many things we would do a bit differently if we had a chance to go back
Most people donât get a second shot at parenting, but we did. We discovered that Jackson was on the wayâ over a decade behind the rest of the kids.
Though I had been intentionally applying the lessons I was learning about parenting (it was a wake-up call when Jarod left for college), we intentionally applied ALL of the lessons anew with JacksonâŚ
With one kids in diapers and another living in the dorms, we âinstalledâ the Strategic Parenting Blueprint (though it didnât have a name at the time) for the next two decadesâŚ
... and right as we were getting "good" at parenting, our oldest kids began having kids of their own. We became grandparents.
We learned a few things about how parenting and grand-parenting are both similar and different-- because we began doing both at the same time!
With ten grandkids, weâre still doing itâ as a support system to our four kids who are now raising and loving their own kids well!

Text templates
A few years ago, a thought hit me...
đ "I have access to my kids and grandkids via text... and that's how so many of them prefer connect, and their phones are almost always with them..."
This lead to an idea.
đĄ Take some of the things I learned during my morning prayer teams, sermon and teaching prep, and transform them into bite-sized nuggets of truth.Â
Everyone loved it.
More surprisingly, they engaged back!
I'll provide you with my text template (8 weeks of them), as well as tips on how to decide whether to send them in real time OR take a few minutes one day a week and schedule a batch of them (most people are shocked to discover your phone ALREADY has the capacity to do this).
